This wedding was extra special for me because I’ve known Rachel since she was born! Rachel’s mom and my mom have been friends since college so naturally we grew up together! Rachel asked me to do prom pictures for her and her boyfriend (who I’d never met before) several years ago and that’s when I met JT! He was goofy and fun loving and I knew he was special! The next year we did prom photos again and their relationship was becoming more serious. Then I got the text asking me to do engagement photos and the wedding! It’s been a joy to watch these two grow together and I can’t wait to see where life takes them!
Their day started at an Air BnB in Blacksburg where Rachel and her girls got ready – they danced, sang, and did each other’s makeup all morning. Rachel and JT wanted to hold hands and pray before the ceremony. Little did JT know – one of his groomsmen dressed up and pretended to be Rachel for a few moments! The ceremony took place at a beautiful church where Rachel’s dad had built an arbor for them to stand under. After the ceremony, we drove to The Barn on Unity Farm in West Virginia. It is a beautiful venue in the mountains! There, of course, is the barn that is stunning inside, but there is also a giant tree with icicle lights draped all over!
